The MLI Approved Professional Development Specialist credential prepares early childhood professionals to support educator growth through coaching, mentoring, observation, training, and technical assistance. Participants develop skills in adult learning, reflective practice, and quality improvement to help strengthen teaching practices and improve outcomes for children and families.
Level 2: 6 hour online training: Develop the skills to observe, coach, mentor, and support educators in improving teaching practices and professional growth.
The MLI Approved Professional Development Specialist pathway is designed for early childhood professionals who want to build upon their trainer skills and provide meaningful support to educators in the classroom.
Through this program, participants learn how to observe teaching practices, coach educators, mentor staff, and support the implementation of effective instructional strategies that strengthen learning environments for children.

Prerequisite Requirements
To enroll in the MLI Professional Development Specialist pathway, participants must be:
- Approved Certified Trainer with MLI or
- Be a current ECE PD Specialist with a National Institute
- Or a current ECE Leader, administrative, coach, mentor, or trainer in the field of early learning, with documented work experience.
